New Year’s Resolution – Change vs. Transformation

The Clock ticks down to midnight…..You reflect on the past year and then look ahead to the new one.   What will be different this year?  What will be the same?   Many New Year resolutions fail because we try to force change.  But change is typically a gradual process.  To invoke change means to begin by first visualizing your goal in your “minds eye”.  Next, work on your goal daily-hourly if necessary. Finally, know that failure is certainly a possibility.  Don’t be too hard on yourself if you miss your goal for the day.  Many a time- if we miss our daily goal, we then see the whole week as “shot”.  Once that mind set occurs, we typically fail.  Pick yourself back up and start anew the next day. We need to understand that our goal is not merely a change but a transformation.  Once the caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, he is no longer a worm!
