Denver sales volume and inventory since 2007
Inventory of residential homes and condos for sale in the Denver Metro area increased 0.8 percent from March 2011 to April 2011, but is 14.8 percent less than it was in April 2010 when 20,943 homes and condos where for sale. At the end of April, there were 17,847 homes and condos for sale. A decline in inventory helps with supply and demand so that the market has a better opportunity to recover.
The chart below illustrates the increase in the number of residential homes and condominiums listed and the increase in the number sold in the Metro Denver area since January 2007. Sales increased for the fourth consecutive month in April when 3,429 residential homes and condominiums sold. Sales in April jumped up 6.9 percent from March 2011, when 3,209 homes sold. The highest number of sales, since January 2007, came in June 2007 when 5,129 residential homes and condominiums sold.
