Colorado Ranch Raises Its Asking Price 25% to $25 Million
John Galardi, founder of hot dog chain Wienerschnitzel, has raised the price of his 56-acre ranch by 25% to $25 million. Located in Snowmass, Colo., the property is about 15 minutes from downtown Aspen.Mr. Galardi first put the property, called “Meanwhile at the Ranch,” on the market for $32.5 million in late 2007; he lowered the price to $20 million in 2011. Most recently, he raised the price after building a three-bedroom guesthouse as well as a 7,000-square-foot equestrian facility with a 12-stall barn. The property now has several residences, including a 12,000-square-foot main house.

It’s rare for a ranch in Aspen to have that many residences, says Gary Feldman of Joshua & Co., who is selling the property. “That sort of extensive building cannot be replicated given the strict anti-growth laws Aspen has in place today.”…read more
