Please take these saftey measures after closing on your home.

 

What is rekeying a lock and when should I do it?

Rekeying a lock happens when you change the working key of the lock to a different key, without replacing the lock itself.
You should do this the day after closing (or immediately following closing).

 

When should you change your locks?

You want to update your locks by changing the color or style or upgrading to electronic locks.
If you have mismatched locks (different brands).

 

Change the garage door opener code.

Ensure that after closing, you change the code to your garage door opener(s).

 

Recode your security system.

If there’s a security system in place, notify the security company and change all passwords.
