$41 million safety net for Colo. homeowners

More than $41 million has been allocated to help Colorado homeowners through an interest-free loan program targeting those at risk of foreclosure, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said Monday.

The program is designed to provide relief to eligible homeowners experiencing a drop in income resulting from involuntary unemployment or underemployment due to adverse economic conditions or a medical emergency.

In Colorado, the organizations that will be helping administer the assistance are the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, CredAbility, National Council of LaRaza, Tri-County Housing & Community Development Corp, the National Foundation of Credit Counseling, and Money Management International.
